JOY FLIGHTS

We offer a range of scenic flights on a range of aircraft for the tourists. We can have flights of Wangaratta and surrounds with superb views of the Ovens and King River Valleys, the local wineries, the Warby ranges and the rugged Alps. These flights take approximately 15 minutes and cost from $20 per person.

Our other scenic flights vary in times up to 75 minutes, and can fly over Mt Buffalo, Mt Hotham, Mt Bogong, Myrtleford, Dartmouth, Beechworth and the other localised towns.

We have a range of aircraft for joy flights from Ultralights, a Tiger Moth, to 4 and 8 seater aircraft.

CHARTER FLIGHTS

If you need to fly somewhere in a hurry, to see a football match in Melbourne, or to see a camel race in Alice Springs, we have the planes and the manpower to get you there.

We offer all weather charter, 4 or 8 seat, and a visual charter, ( good weather ) two planes with 4 seats.

LEARN TO FLY

We provide training from a Student Pilot's License through to Commercial Pilot Licenses. Would you like to fly for fun, or make a career out of flying? Let us take you on a Trial Instruction Flight, during which our flying instructor will allow you to fly the aircraft. This will allow you to decide if flying is in your blood.

TIGER MOTH JOY FLIGHTS

Wgaero7.JPG (12540 bytes)

Here at the Wangaratta Aero Club we have a beautifully serviced and maintained Tiger Moth, which can be hired for Joy Flights.

Entry is achieved by climbing gingerly along the wing, and dropping down the small "doors", and simply legging it in. Please note the very sophisticated brake system, a carefully designed rope with two precisely cut lumps of wood forming "Chucks", hence the old airforce expression, "Chucks Away!".

Please note the cabin or cockpit of the Tiger Moth. Very sophisicated equipment, well, at least for its time. These type of planes were extensively used in the First World War, in 1917. They were not built for comfort, but they were obviously built to last.

PLEASE GIVE US A RING FOR ANY QUERIES RE JOY FLIGHTS, CHARTERED FLIGHTS OR PILOT TRAINING.
