Live Displays

The Freshwater Discovery Centre has live displays of the Blue Tongue Lizard, shown above, the Long Finned Eels and the Long Necked Turtle, both shown below, with information about these displayed animals.

Preserved Display

There are some magnificently preserved animals on display at the Discovery Centre, such as this beautiful platypus and the cute water rat shown above.

Above is another preserved platypus, a long necked turtle, and a variety of frogs.

Tickle a Trout in a Touch Tank

In this specially designed tank visitors to the centre may place their hands into the tank which is stocked full of teeming small trout.

The Snobs Creek Hatchery breed and grow three main types of fish, trout, Murray Cod and Golden Perch. These fish are then released into Victorian rivers and waterways.

Over 1 million fish are released each year.

There is an excellent audio visual presentation which takes less than 15 minutes to view.

Buses and group tours welcome.

Admission fees apply.
