Nestled just off the Wodonga To Beechworth road, next to the well known local alpaca farm, set amongst 15 acres of beautiful country gardens and paddocks, are the Colby Cottages.

There are two self contained one bedroom cottages, built over a period of three years by your hosts Andrew and Glenda.

These cottages have been carefully planned and built around two themes, the Captain's Cottage, and the Miner's Cottage.

Both cottages are furnished with magnificent antiques of the period.

The Captain's Cottage is decorated in a nautical theme with pictures and antiques of the times. Above you can see a magnificent queen sized brass bed, with a sail and pulleys forming a hanging ceiling. Light is streaming into the room through two separate leadlight windows.

Above is a small galley kitchen, with antique tables and cupboards, with a wooden sink benchtop, and an old working gas stove.

There is an open fireplace with a rack of tools for the fire, and plenty of wood stored in the antique metal locker. Antiques adorn the cottage, and the fireplace is surrounded by a leadlight window on the left, and a reverse cycle air conditioner on the right.

In the corner of the cottage is an antique ice box, known as an Esky, on which sits a modern television. The cottage also has a DVD and a CD player. Note the boat shaped bookshelf.

Colby Cottages are located at Wooragee, on the main Wodonga to Beechworth road, next to the alpaca farm.

They are located approximately half way between the historic towns of Yackandandah and Beechworth.

Colby Cottages are 1.5 kms from the Wooragee School, 5.5 kms from the Yackandandah turnoff, and 13kms from the Beechworth Post Office.

The tariff is     1 night        $170.00

                       2 nights       $150.00 per night

                       3 nights       $150.00 for fist two nights

                                           with 50% discount on third night

                                           ( long weekends exempt )

                       7 nights       $150.00 per night for the first 6 nights

                                            with the seventh night Free.

Includes breakfast starter pack, including provisions for cooked breakfast, and complimentary chocolates, port and marshmallows, especially for the open fire.
